Betsey Varney started playing violin at age 2 1/2 with the Betty Haag Suzuki group. She continued playing all through school and graduated from The New England Conservatory of Music with a Violin Performance Degree.
She then went on to study with Schmuell Oshkinozi, the first violinist of the Vemeer Quartet.
Betsey Varney has been teaching violin for over 10 years. She currently teaches violin to students at St. Peter Lutheran School in Schaumburg as well as at Vinatge Violins. Betsey is a freelance violinist in the Chicagoland area. Betsey Varney is a member of the South Bend Symphony and Associate Concertmaster of The Northbrook Symphony.
